What it is
The EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (Reg. 2024/1781) requires most products sold into the EU to carry a Digital Product Passport — a digital credential with traceable material, durability and repairability data.
Who it applies to
Almost every physical product sold into the EU, rolled out category by category. Textiles, electronics, batteries and furniture are first; other categories follow through the Delegated Acts.
When it bites
Delegated Acts land progressively from 2027. EU buyers and regulators are already asking for DPP-ready suppliers ahead of enforcement — the procurement pressure starts before the law does.
